A poetic prayer I wrote for myself for Father’s Day this year.
I don’t want to be a good dad,
I want to be a godly one.
I don’t want to be a fun dad,
I want to be a faithful one.
I wish I was a perfect dad,
But I just need to be present.
I wish I could give the world,
But I just need to give myself.
I won’t always have the answers,
But I can point to the One who does.
I can’t save them from life’s troubles,
But I can point to the One called Saviour.
The best thing I can ever do,
Is show them Jesus is the best.
The only way to do that,
Is show them Jesus is the way.
